Stand Up Pouch

The Stand Up Pouch is a riff on the flat pouch, but instead of two pieces, you cut one big rectangular piece (on the fold), and then you make a quick little fold of fabric on the bottom before you sew up the sides. This creates a three-dimensional bottom that pops open when you fill the bag, letting it live up to its name. The pattern in How to Sew Clothes comes in two sizes, small and big — and it’s easily hackable to any size you want.
