Sew Pants You Love! The Studio Pants are an easy-tapered ankle-length pant with two elastic waistband variations and optional patch pockets. Maybe you’ve never sewn pants before! Maybe you’ve sewn quite a few pairs! This pattern is appropriate for beginners and advanced sewists and everyone in between – with full adjustment and fitting instructions, along with detailed diagrams and all our most helpful sewing tips. 

If you've felt nervous about sewing pants before and want to be guided through the process, this pattern is really for you – our instructions for making a muslin and making any needed fit adjustments will help you practice the process of sewing pants and help you feel confident in what you're making!


This pattern is pay-what-you-can!

The Studio Pants feel great in a non-stretch woven bottomweight fabric with some drape, ideally anywhere from about 5-10 oz (170 - 340 gsm) in weight. Some examples of what would work really well are heavy linen, linen-cotton blends, cotton twill, denim, corduroy, and washed cotton canvas, or other similar fabrics. Use the following chart to find your size based on your body measurements, and find out how much fabric (and elastic) is recommended:
